When the innovators behind Erie Ohio Capital approached me to build out their website, it wasn’t just a new brand—it was a financial entity operating inside a highly regulated environment. Adding complexity, they needed to hit a very tight launch target to take advantage of a unique window of opportunity. That meant its website had to do far more than look good; it had to be accurate, secure, and trustworthy… in one week.
I was responsible for taking the concept from scattered financial documents to a live, public-facing website.
The Challenge
Financial and investment-focused organizations come with layers of legal, compliance, and reputational risk. Every sentence matters. Every number must be correct. And every visual choice has to reinforce credibility. And—again—I had a week.
The information was spread across:
- Internal business plans
- Compliance requirements
- Legal disclosures
- Financial documents
- Regular phone calls
My job was to turn all of that into something usable and professional.
The Process
- Information gathering from finance, legal, and leadership
- Structuring and writing content that balanced clarity with compliance
- Designing the site so it felt modern, professional, and credible
- Building the website, including beta testing and live environments
- Testing across devices and browsers to ensure accuracy, performance, and accessibility

Why It Mattered
A financial website is often the first and only interaction someone has with an organization. If it’s confusing, outdated, or inconsistent, trust is lost before a conversation ever begins.
By managing content, design, and deployment in one tightly coordinated workflow, I ensured that Erie Ohio Capital launched with a digital presence that matched the seriousness of its mission.
To support the launch, I also developed and published foundational blog content designed to explain key concepts, answer common questions, and begin seeding search visibility from day one—so the site didn’t just exist, but could actually be found in search.
