Each year, Woda Cooper Companies brings senior management leaders from across its 18-state portfolio to Columbus for an intensive, multi-day leadership summit focused on compliance, operations, communication, and resident experience. It also serves to build relationships between geographically separated leaders who don’t get many opportunities to interact.
I was responsible for planning, structuring, and running the experience.

My Role & Responsibilities
I owned the program end-to-end, including:
- Content & Curriculum
- Worked with internal executives and external subject-matter experts to:
- Identify current regulatory and operational hot-button issues
- Shape session topics and learning objectives
- Build a program that addressed real problems leaders were facing in the field
- Worked with internal executives and external subject-matter experts to:
- Facilitation & Instruction
- Designed the panel-based, Q&A-driven format
- Moderated panel discussions on:
- Fair Housing
- Accounting and compliance
- Operations and customer experience
- Personally led multiple seminar sessions
- Event Structure
- Created the full multi-day run of show
- Sequenced sessions to balance:
- Technical depth
- Engagement
- Mental fatigue
- Coordinated speaker timing, transitions, and audience flow
- Team Building & Experience Design
- Because connection matters as much as content, I also designed the team-building experience, including a fully themed Western Casino Saloon Night.
- That included:
- Concept and theme development
- Activity planning
- Props and decor
- Flow and timing
- Creating a relaxed, social environment that encouraged cross-team relationships

The Experience
Over several days, leaders from across the country participated in:
- Interactive compliance and Fair Housing sessions
- Deep dives into financial and operational performance
- Candid panel discussions about challenges in the field
- Open Q&A with senior leadership and experts
- And a high-energy, high-connection social event
Why This Project Mattered
In a company that operates across 18 states, consistency in leadership is everything.
By designing and running this summit—from curriculum and facilitation to logistics and team-building—I helped ensure that Woda Cooper’s leadership team left aligned, informed, and connected.
And that alignment shows up every day in how residents are served, how teams perform, and how the company grows.
