I am not a graphic designer and I don’t pretend to be. But any marketing person working in a fast-moving field can tell you that sometimes a project simply doesn’t have time for sending out RFPs, interviewing designers, and going through 10 rounds of revisions.

In such situations, success or failure can be reliant on knowing enough to build out the basics quickly.
