Creative experimentation inside a fintech startup environment

I had the opportunity to collaborate with an exceptionally talented team at a fintech startup called MeggaLife — a platform that aimed to merge social media engagement with financial services. The product suite was designed to create community-driven interaction around financial identity and participation, powered by institutional backing.

As part of the marketing effort, we developed a digital drip campaign focused on building early brand connection and encouraging users to feel personally “invested” in the platform before launch. I contributed to shaping messaging, content, and campaign assets alongside a group of creative and driven colleagues. Importantly, the marketing team before my time with the organization had spent over $200,000 on video production that catastrophically missed the mark, so I was forced to come up with solutions that allowed us to deploy quickly and inexpensively.

The project allowed me to explore:

  • Social-first campaign strategy
  • Voice and tone development for emerging brands
  • Iterative content creation in a startup environment
  • Rapid collaboration across disciplines

My personal favorite aspect was creating a visual representation of a convoluted financial product. This allowed us to have consistency while building some brand awareness and excitement.

Ultimately, the startup failed to start up due to technical challenges with the product. While that outcome was outside the marketing scope, the experience remains one of my favorites. I’m proud of the creative work we produced and the energy of the team behind it — and the project served as a valuable reminder that even in unsuccessful ventures, strong collaboration and thoughtful content still matter.
